| The camping trip was loads of fun. Looked like a terrible weekend weather wise, but then sunday at about noon the skies parted and we had just about the best beach day ever. I proceeded to get the weirdest sunburn on my back because i thought i could cover every part. I was wrong. I slept in the food van as well. The zipper on my tent broke, so me, Dietrich, Ketih, and Eric G were all in the food van. Keith took the driver's seat. I don't know how he slept. And i woke him up by laying on the horn! hah! And monday we rode back to Chicago. Such a nice ride. And then I came to school. And that was weeeeird. It's really empty in the summer. Felt like a ghost town. But then yesterday I talked and ate with some friends that I found. So that was nice too. And my parents came down to drop off my stuff. We went to this nice Spanish restaurant. Really good guaquamole. Called the Adobo Grill. I recommend it. So now i'm just reading all the time. I missed the Hillsong Concert. Kinda sad about that. I'm sure that woulda been a great time. Anyway, the weekend is coming, and more reading is ahead. On the plus side, it's really interesting stuff about God, philosphy, logic, and more stuff like that. Good (but loooong) reads. Speaking of which, I need to get back to it! Dave | | |
| So, it's warm out. That's a plus. This spring semester has gone by rather well. I enjoyed all my classes. In fact, I just preached today, and I think it went well. So only finals are left now. I have 2 big papers and 1 test. That's it! And then it's onto SENIOR YEAR. whoa......So my plans after school (Lord willing), are to work for a few years in the area, just to chill after so much school. Let things settle a bit. But mainly work for a few years to save for grad school. Bum bum bum........I've been looking most intently at a school out near Boston called Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. They have what you call a Masters of Theology degree with concentration in biblical theology, which is what i want to get into, so it looks real good. But it is expensive, so that's why i'd have to save a bit. I'm looking forward to this summer a whole lot now. Plans are set so that i'll be interning for Eric doing Band of Survivors! Weeha. It's gonna be another great summer. I'm really excited to be planning and working with this group of people. It's really a great opportunity; i mean, bible lessons, service projects, prayer and praise nights, 24/7 prayer. It's a good time. O, my sis is graduating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY, go my favorite sister! WOOT. I'm glad she's done. I think she'll be really happy to be working with people, and to be done with school. And now I can call her whenever i want, and she can't say she has to go do homework! Mwahahahahahaha. Dave | | |
| Ok. So North Carolina was a great trip. I went there with Aubrey and Hannah from band (and Zach)....(not from band, from Indiana). We had a good time. Went bowling, watched good movies, videotaped some funny stuff, drove a ton. It was a good break really. School's been alright this past week or so. I preached in class. They said i needed to be more engaged with the text, which means more emotion, more pathos. Hmmm probably right. So i'll try to add that in for my next one. Other classes are good. Hebrew was canceled this week cept for friday, so i got a bit more time on my hands. I'm looking to get a laptop at the end of summer. I wanna get this cool HP 12" thing. The screen rotates and falls flat, like a tablet (without tablet abilities). Kinda weird i know, but it'd be nice for writing music with. Having a piano keyboard and number pad is already a lot on a desk. Having a rotating screen would keep the space down. My last thing was a cool idea, but it may be more complicated than i thought. I'm writing more and more original music (band, orchestra, strings etc.), so i'm thinking if i get enough down, i might try and put it up on the web. Have my own site and all. Could work i think, but like i said, it might get way to complicated, especially if i were to try and sell the music (parts and stuff, not mp3s). We'll see what happens. That's about it for now. I'll try not to let a month go by without posting again. | | |
| Well, back at school. I have a lot of Greek for tomorrow......And a cold now, i think. I also woke up at 9:50.....but then i realized that my roomie's clock hadn't been set ahead yet. So it was really 10:50. And waking up at 11:00 is not really that much fun. Cause by the time you get ready for your day, it's 12ish. And then you have to eat. So it's like 1 before you get to work. Anyway, tour was great. So much fun, and so much good video taken. I like video. It's cool to hear and see everything again, as it happened. Looks like we brought the warm weather back with us from Florida. Feels about 80 outside. My air conditioner is broken though. But thats ok because i can just open my window now. It's good to be back at school too. I'm preaching soon in one of my classes, so I'm excited and a little nervous for that. I guess things are going great. Later! Dave | | |
